Located in the scenic countryside of the Vienne Department, La Ferme des Hiboux is a 3.5 acre sustainable smallholding and eco retreat.
Here on our farm we grow delicious fruit and vegetables, care for our animals (goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, cats and counting) and try to live life more simply. Our goal is to be more self-sufficient and to manage our plot sustainably. We believe in working with nature, not against it and grow without the use of pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. Our growing is inspired by our kitchen - we grow what we love to cook and eat.
Our passion for sustainability drives the way we work on our smallholding. We use organic principles in our vegetable and herb gardens and all our animals are free range.
The eco lodge runs entirely from renewable energy, provided by our wind turbine and solar panels. The grey water is filtered through a reed-bed system, producing clean water to feed our plants and keep the frogs in our pond happy. A little off the beaten track, the wildlife on the farm and in the surrounding fields and woodland is abundant. We regularly spot deer and wild boar and have daily visits from woodpeckers and herons. And we do everything we can to make the wildlife feel at home here.
